What I Offer
-
I specialise in Zumba Gold classes, which are designed with active older adults and/or those new to fitness training in mind. This means a modified Zumba class that recreates the original moves at a lower intensity.
The class focuses on all elements of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility and balance. All while keeping Zumba Gold participants front-of-mind to make these fitness elements accessible.
The class introduces Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination to help participants leave feeling empowered and strong.

Sports and remedial massage involves the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pain and injury (minor and chronic).
The techniques and pressure that I use are tailored to you and your treatment plan/goals.
-
A targeted massage therapy with firm, direct pressure to reach deep muscle layers and connective tissues.
Deep Tissue Massage Therapy can act like the midpoint between Swedish and Sports Massage: it incorporates firm pressure with some Sports Massage techniques, with a general focus on relaxation and easing tension.
-
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialised, gentle and rhythmic massage technique. It’s benefits include: detoxification, immune support, reduced swelling, improved tissue health and improved overall wellbeing.
It works by stimulating the natural circulation of fluid within the body.
Lymphatic massage can be particularly beneficial for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME, also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)), post-surgical recovery and lymphedema management.
-
Swedish massage is a gentle therapeutic treatment. It can help to boost relaxation, ease stress, relax muscles and support natural blood flow.
Please note, oils or lotions are almost always used during Swedish massage, as it is most effective when applied directly to skin, rather than through clothes. Sport and remedial massage can be effectively applied through clothes, if you would prefer.

Scar tissue massage therapy helps to break up scar tissue and support natural movement where scar tissue may be tightening skin.
Scar tissue therapy will not get rid of your scar, but it can help to soften tight, bulky or raised scar tissue; relieve pain, itching or hypersensitivity; restore feeling where there is numbness; reduce pulling on surrounding tissue and encourage range of movement.
Scar tissue massage therapy is best applied daily. During our session, I will show you how to apply treatment at home to continue the benefits and maintain an ongoing routine.
Please reach out to me directly to arrange a scar tissue massage therapy treatment. Always confirm with your doctor or surgeon that your wound is completely closed before starting any treatment.
“Alison’s approach to massage therapy is holistic, looking at the whole body and not just one area. Her massages have been so effective for helping with my shoulder and arm pain.”
